Lydeard St. Lawrence is an English civil parish within the unitary authority of Somerset
Lydeard St. Lawrence is a small village in the Taunton Deane area of Somerset, lying between the Quantock Hills AONB and the Brendon Hills, at about 120m above sea level. It is about 10 miles to the north west of the county town of Taunton. The parish covers a large rural area and encompasses several small hamlets including Westowe, Pyleigh, Chapel Leigh and Westleigh. The village has a large church, a busy primary school, a cricket club, a WI Group, Table Tennis and Bell Ringing. Tolland village is the adjacent parish which has its own thriving community and the two parishes join together for administrative purposes and have one Parish Council.
